Dar?ber braucht man sich nicht zu verwundern, schreibt doch Jachen Bivrun, der 1560 das Neue Testament ins Romanische ?bersetzte, in seinem Vorwort, man habe bisher geglaubt, man k?nne in dieser Sprache nicht schreiben. Lassen wir hier die Einleitung zum ersten Estem folgen:
"Wir nach benambte, Claus Josch Tshiend, der Zyt erwelter Amman und Richter der ganzen Gemeynde Berg?n, Jann Paul Cla, Bartlomy del Steffen, Pett dilg Caplyw all von Berg?n, Jan dla Maria von Fylisur, Nutt Farlenda von Stull, Jan dilg Bryn von Latsch, alle erwelte durch mehr oberwenter Gemeynden nach Form und Bruch alters Herkhomens, den Estympt oder Schnitzs ze reformieren nach altern Bruch. So ordnende wir und machende bym Aydt wie nach folgett - Im iar 1562 am 18 October."
Translated to english:
One need not to wonder at, writes Jachen Bivrun, the 1560 translated the New Testament into Romansh, in his preface, that it was hitherto believed that one could not write in that language. Let us follow here the introduction to the first edition:
We the following named, Claus Josch Dschender, the bailiff and judge for the whole community of Berg?n, Johannes Pol Clo, Bartolomy del Steffen, Peter Caplyw, all of Berg?n, Johannes Maria of Filisur, Nutt Farlenda of Stugl, Johannes Brun of Latsch, all the above named communities on the manner and breaking of old custom, the Estimpt of cut or reform them according to age breakdown. So ordering we and make the ... as follows - in the year 1562 on the 18th of October.
